North Bridge Project

The Nashua Regional Planning Commission is promoting a plan to construct a toll bridge across the Merrimack River connecting to a new "boulevard" style road through an existing Nashua neighborhood, resulting in some 50 homes being torn down or having property lost, plus a major impact on the neighborhood as a whole This project would be funded by a private investor which would be repaid by the state.

Residents and many city elected officials were unaware of this proposal, which requires special legislation that is being pushed through as a "Legislative Service Request" rather than a traditional bill.

Here you can read articles and documents about the proposal.  If you wish to get involved, you can discuss it in the forum on this site or participate in an email discussion list.  To get access to the discussion list, create an account on this site, log in, and then revisit this category.
